MHFA Conversations about Suicide

The 4-hour Mental Health First Aid Conversations about Suicide course is for any interested adult.
You will learn the skills and acquire the knowledge required to safely have a conversation with a person experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviours. It provides an opportunity to understand to apply the skills learnt relating to this topic in a respectful and supportive manner.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals. It provides contact information and you will receive a workbook as part of the course.

About the Presenter

Diane Hickey is an experienced mental health nurse and counselor with extensive experience in mental health, forensic mental health and primary health care; she worked with Queensland Police Service developing face to face and online mental health training and has developed and delivered mental health awareness training. She is a certified Principal Master Trainer of MHFA. She has a relaxed and humorous presentation style that will make the experience of attending this workshop both fun and informative.
